HOTEL WEDDING IN BRNO

I recently had the opportunity to shoot wedding photos at the Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Brno a few times. Let's take a look at some of them.

Wedding at Courtyard by Marriott Brno

While I personally view the hotel more as a business place for corporate clients, I can say that the possibilities from a wedding perspective are great here.

Of course, you have to consider that the hotel is located near the city center, and its focus is more on conventions than weddings. Therefore, you can't expect open outdoor spaces with a park that would provide privacy amidst greenery. If you are looking for such a place, the Courtyard is not for you.

However, if the surroundings are not the main priority when planning a wedding and you value impeccable service, the possibility of accommodating a large number of your guests is key for you, and you want to enjoy everything without stress, then Marriott may be one of the options that is definitely worth considering.

I distinctly remember a discussion with clients who originally planned to have their wedding at another venue in Brno but decided to change their wedding venue to Courtyard by Marriott at the very last minute.

I asked them why they made this decision, and unsurprisingly, it was because of the exceptional service the hotel is ready to offer. Customized wedding packages, luxurious accommodations, culinary delights, and seamless communication - this hotel is ready for your special day.

Personally, I see a huge advantage in the possibility of accommodation for guests. I myself like big weddings where people are having fun and partying until the morning, and the fact that as a guest you don't have to go anywhere in the middle of the night or move is a big advantage for me. And you can have hundreds of guests at a wedding here.

Michaela and Jan

But enough about the hotel and hotel weddings, let's get to the photos of Michaela and Jan. These two have been together for a few years now, and despite all the nervousness about their time in front of the camera together, they were great.

I've known Michaela for a while, she has experience with photography, so I knew it would be a joy to shoot with her. And Jan also proved to be a complete natural, I couldn't wait to capture their photos.

Color vs Black and White Wedding Photos

This time I knew right from the beginning of the shooting that I would have a hard time choosing whether to present color or black and white versions of the photos, because a lot of photos were asking for both.

And after a long time, I realized how great it is that I always submit both color and black and white photos to my clients. For many of the photos, we argued at home about which option was better, and I confirmed for myself that I want my clients to be able to make that decision on their own.

After all, I never know if they will want to hang the photo on the wall, and in that case, what the room in which the photo will hang will look like. Will the colors stand out there, or would it be more suitable for a black and white rendition?

If the photos will be printed in an wedding album, in which case, will there be only one photo on a page at any one time, in which case you can choose from either option at your leisure, or will there be more wedding photos combined on a double page, and so it's better to stick to a unified style?

Or simply - do clients prefer more color or black and white photos? All of this often flies through my head during the shoot.

But I guess I should be finishing with the article, you're mainly here for the photos. I hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed the shoot with Michaela and Jan.

For photographers: Shot as always on Nikon, specifically Nikon Z9, this time almost entirely with Z 50/1.2 S and Z 85/1.2 S lenses.

I can honestly say both lenses have been exceeding all my expectations. I've been shooting with the 50/1.2 for several years now, and I didn't even hope that anything could surpass it. But the 85/1.2 is perhaps even better.

Last but not least, a big thank you to everyone who help during planning the shoot.

And if you want similar photos too, let me know. I'd love to photograph your wedding, whether it's in Brno, Prague, or anywhere you want to have me next to you on your big day.
